San Luis Obispo is 200 miles north of Los Angeles and 230 miles south of San Francisco. The current population is about 45,000. Local citizens call it "SLO" and "San Luis". San Luis Obispo is on the California Central Coast. Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa is at the center of town.
